If your card machine isn’t charging or powering on properly, follow these quick steps. There are 5 main parts to check:
1. The Power Socket
· Make sure the wall socket the charger is plugged into is switched on and working.
· Test it with another device) to confirm socket it working.
2. The Power Lead (Cable)
· This runs from the wall socket to the charging base.
· To test if it’s working:
o Turn off the card machine
o Unplug the power cable from the charging base
o Plug it directly into the card machine
o If the machine switches on, the power socket and cable are working fine.
3. The Charging Base (Cradle)
· Remove the battery from the card machine.
· Plug the power lead back into the charging base.
· Put the battery-free card machine onto the charging base.
· If it doesn’t switch on:
o Clean the gold/brass contacts on both the base and machine (see the image).
o Check for any bent or damaged pins.
o Try again. If it still doesn’t switch on, contact us for a replacement.
4. The Battery
· Put the battery back into the card machine.
· Replace the back cover and slide the lock to secure it properly (check the guides are aligned—see image).
· Place the powered-off card machine on the charging base.
· If it does not switch on, raise a support ticket.
5. Card Machine/Battery Charging Status
· If the machine switches on, check the battery icon at the top right of the screen:
o Flashing red = battery is empty
o Within a few minutes, it should go to:
§ Solid red → Solid amber → Solid green
· If the battery doesn’t progress or stays flashing red, contact us.
